David Albalah
David has served as a party-selected and court-appointed mediator for over 30 years as both a partner at AmLaw 200 law firms, and in private practice. During that time he has mediated a wide variety of business disputes for clients that have included Fortune 500 corporations, venture-backed startups, and entertainment celebrities.
Before embarking on his mediation career, David was a Senior Partner at Bracewell LLP. At Bracewell, David headed up the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice. Prior to that, David was a Capital Partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP, and before that, an associate at Kaye Scholer LLP (now Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP). Since 1993, David has also served as a mediator on the register of mediators of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
David received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law. Before attending law school, David practiced as a CPA at Ernst & Young LLP. He also founded and built two successful small businesses. David’s business accounting and entrepreneurial background provides critical expertise when mediating business disputes involving complex financial issues.
